Raluca Marinescu

Raluca Marinescu received her Bachelor of Music from the Bucharest University of Music, her Master of Music from the University of Washington, and is currently in the Doctoral Program at the University of Washington. She was born in Romania, began studying piano at five years old and attended music school, with an emphasis in voice. Raluca began her teaching career instructing high school music courses in both piano and voice while still in Romania.Raluca has been featured in concerts locally and internationally, both as a pianist and as a soprano. Her performances include tours in Austria, Italy, England, Romania and the US.
Some of Raluca’s recent performances include the Contessa in The Marriage of Figaro with Lyric Opera Northwest, Mimi in La Boheme, Antonia in The tales of Hoffmann with Bellevue Opera and most recently Tatiana in Eugene Onegin with University of Washington Opera. Other favorite parts are Donna Elvira and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and Elsa in Wagner’s Lohengrin. Whether she is performing on stage or for a small private gathering, her full lyrical soprano transports audiences back in time and across continents.
