Raymond Garofalo
Guitar instruction
Raymond Garofalo offers instruction in classical and popular guitar. In his lessons he teaches standard technique, music reading, theory, and repertoire. Mr. Garofalo also emphasizes performance skills, and improvisation. He encourages students to think on their own, and to take responsibility for their playing and study of music.

Currently Mr. Garofalo is completing his Bachelor of Arts degree, and Bachelors of Music in Performance, at the University of Washington, where he is studying with Steven Novacek. Mr. Garofalo also holds an Associates in Arts and Sciences from Pierce College. In recent years Mr. Garofalo has studied with Christopher Parkening, Pepe Romero, and David Russell, some of today's leading classical guitar recording artists.

In addition to teaching, and continuing his studies, Mr. Garofalo is an active performer. He has played for chamber music groups, orchestras, big bands, musicals and with choirs. Mr. Garofalo frequently takes to the stage to perform solo recitals. He has also performed in master classes at the Stetson International Guitar Workshop, the Portland Classic Guitar Society, and the Christopher Parkening Master class.
